About us
Dr. Kimberly Smith
Dr. Kimberly Smith is the founder and CEO of CAG. She has over 25 years of experience in the fields of Early Childhood Education and Leadership. She is well-versed in child development and skilled in administration, strategic planning, and continuous improvement. Through her work in executive roles with community organizations, she has a proven record of building capacities to strengthen communities through education.
Her work in program administration has included serving as VP of Strategic Initiatives and Chief Development Officer for a non-profit organization, Director of a multi-million dollar grant funded center, Executive Director for Early Head Start programs, and Director of a family literacy program. Early in her career she worked several positions in the childcare arena including curriculum manager, center director, literacy coach, and teacher.
In addition to her direct work with children, families, and communities, Dr. Smith has over a decade experience teaching Early Childhood Education at the collegiate level. Dr. Smith is also an entrepreneur and published author. Her published books include “You Were Designed to Shine” and “You Are Destined to Win”.
Dr. Smith studied Early Childhood Education at Chicago State University. She received the Master of Education and the Master of Business Administration degrees from Tennessee State University. She earned the Doctor of Education degree in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change from Lipscomb University.
